CHESTER STOCK: 1892-1950. Paleontologist; Professor of Paleontology, CIT 1926-1950; Chairman, Division of Geological Sciences 1947-50. Research in vertebrate paleontology, especially mammalian fossil remains in the tertiary formations west of the Rocky Mountains of USA & northern part of Mexico. The papers include general correspondence, letters regarding CIT & the running of the division, a few technical letters, field & technical notebooks, including some early field notebooks of other geologists, manuscripts & reprints, and photographs.
