Papers of George Ellery Hale, 1882-1938
GEORGE ELLERY HALE, 1868-1938. Astronomer; Founder and Director of the Mount Wilson Observatory, 1904-23; Trustee, Throop Polytechnic and CIT. Papers are a very complete record of his activities (c. 1882-1937). Included are correspondence and documents relating to individuals and organizations, biographical data and family letters, drafts of articles, and documents regarding NRC, CIT, and the League of Nations Committee on Intellectual Cooperation. The entire collection is available on microfilm. Addendum 2002 consists of original diary of 1901; includes also transcription of the diary provided by W. Sargent.
