Collection Notes: Papers, 1908-1962. Beno Gutenberg played a major role in the investigation of the size, location, occurence, and cause of earthquakes. His papers include personal correspondence; correspondence and documents relating to Caltech, to professional organizations and meetings, and to publications; technical files and manuscripts on earthquakes; government files; data pads and note books; reprints; and biographical and personal material.
