Fred J. Ewing was a Caltech alumnus, BS 1927, PhD 1935 in chemistry. He was a student of Linus Pauling. The files contain personal memorabilia, including a letter from Pauling, as well as material related to war work on rocket propellants, specifically a trip to Europe in 1945. Ewing was born Dec. 20, 1906. He was an undergraduate classmate of Carl Anderson. See 1927 Big T.
